What is judge batchelder?

Alice M. Batchelder is a retired United States Circuit Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. She was appointed to the court in 1991 by President George H. W. Bush and assumed senior status on March 30, 2019. Prior to her appointment to the court, Batchelder served as a judge of the Ohio Eighth District Court of Appeals from 1985 to 1991, and as a judge of the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas from 1982 to 1985. Batchelder earned her bachelor's degree from Ohio Wesleyan University in 1970 and her Juris Doctor from the University of Akron School of Law in 1974. She is considered a conservative jurist and has authored over 900 opinions during her tenure on the Sixth Circuit.
